Overall view of the hand tool carrier.

Picture 2 of 2.

This is the rear of the carrier when the carrier was attached to the Lunar Roving Vehicle. The exact lunar surface tools carried varied slightly from one mission to another, but many tools were carried on all three missions.

From left to right, the tall tools which extend over the top of the carrier are the extension handle (which could be attached to a variety of tools to extend the astronauts' reach), tongs, adjustable scoop, and LRV soil sampler.

The low, rectangular tray just right of center held the hammer.

The hand tool carrier included two rods which were part of the mounting mechanism for sample collection bags (although this particular HTC has only a single bag installed).
