EC-135L

(Airborne Command Post Relay)

The EC-135L was manufactured by Boeing Aircraft, Seattle, Washington. It was delivered to the Air Force on 8 December 1961. Its final assignment was the 305th AREFW [heroicrelics: Air Refueling Wing] in January 1970. EC-135 #61-269 flew many missions in operation JUST CAUSE (Panama) as well as DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM. For the latter, it performed radio relay operations leading to the elimination of two Iraqi aircraft, 60+ tank kills, and 27 scud strikes.
