Anders' Apollo 8 Suit Gallery

View of the suit's left boot, which was integrated into the suit's torso-limb suit assembly and was not removable.

This boot is unusual in that the lower portion is covered with what appears to be Chromel-R, a woven-metal fabric. Normally, this boot would simply be covered in white Betacloth. Chromel-R was very expensive and was used only on the lunar overboot, which needed the extra wear resistance.
