Turbopumps

The turbopump had been completely disassembled, with the inlets, volutes, and shaft on pallets on the floor and the inducers and impellers on various shelves in the lab.

There was a table at a convenient height for photography, and one of our hosts was gracious enough to retrieve and replace the various parts. He anticipated what I would want next, and after I was done with one set, he'd put them away and get the next while I photographed some other nearby part. It really maximized use of the available time.

Oddly enough my copy of the F-1 Rocket Engine Technical Manual: Illustrated Parts Breakdown contains the LOX turbopump and turbine, but not the fuel turbopump or shaft. So, while I was able to use the official names and part numbers of the LOX turbopump, I have no such information for the fuel turbopump.

I have a cut-away diagram of a Mark 10 (F-1) turbopump on page 1-4 (page 6 in the PDF) of my supplement to the F-1 Rocket Engine Technical Manual: Engine Data (R-3896-1).
