View of the injector end of the thrust chamber throat security closure shaft.
The white, spring-loaded pin would be retracted (held in place by the detent) so that the threaded end could be installed in the threaded hole at the center of the injector. The spring-loaded pin would then be released between two injector baffles. See this photo of the shaft installed in an F-1 engine.
