Overall view of the aft end of the turbopump, showing the interior of the
turbine housing.
I believe that the vanes around the periphery are the first-stage nozzles,
which would direct hot gas from the gas generator to the first-stage turbine
wheel, and that the lighter-colored rough circle at center (with the 12 bolt
heads) is all that's left of the first-stage turbine wheel, those 12 bolts
still holding the turbine wheel remnant to the
turbopump's shaft.
As of now, I have not yet sorted through all of my pictures of the
turbopump,
but some other page references this location. Thus, this is a "place holder"
version right now, with only the pictures actually referenced. Come back some
time later to see if I've finished up, or drop me
an email to request me to prioritize the rest of these pictures.
