View of the engine conservation area. Picture 2 of 3. "Basin 2" was a large, shallow pool which primarily held the remains of the lower portion of the the engines' thrust chambers. Individual regenerative cooling tubes, throat straps, reinforcing hat bands, pieces of fuel return manifold, and flow vanes were the primary engine parts in this bath. At the bottom portion of this photo is a conservation workstation up against the gallery window. | ||||
