Apollo Heat Shield

The exhibit included a display featuring two relatively large slabs of Apollo heat shield, one fresh from manufacture (unablated) and flown, ablated sample, taken from a Command Module after reentry.

The unablated heat shield is is Smithsonian catalog #A19751421000; I was unable to locate the ablated sample in the Smithsonian's collections catalog.
