The lunar surface checklist on the left glove (photograph has been rotated 90 degrees for ease of reading). It reads
Aldrin was Apollo 11's lunar module pilot (LMP); Armstrong was the commander (CDR). Although Armstrong had his own checklist, there were a number of tasks for the two astronauts to perform at the same time. If you've ever watched the full television footage of the Apollo 11 EVA, there are a few minutes when Aldrin seems to run https://youtu.be/iR3oXFFISI0?t=4166 around on the moon like a little kid, but he was actually going through the checklist, evaluating various paces at which an astronaut might walk in the 1/6 lunar gravity. Note the magnifying glass at top, provided to help the visitor read the checklist. | ||||
