Note a second mounting bracket at upper right, just below the yellow electrical connector end cap, behind the wiring bundle.

Unlike the descent engine, the ascent engine did not gimbal; it was fixed, attaching to the lunar module structure at these brackets. Directional control was achieved by using the ascent stage's RCS engines, orienting the entire stage in the correct direction.
