View into the forward end of the Redstone tail unit.

Some sort of gasket is affixed at the top of the center unit, presumably to prevent too much weather from entering the aft end of the missile after assembly. The four gaps in the gasket are presumably where the flanges on the engine mount struts would be located.

Visible are several of the 20 connecting fittings which fastened the tail unit to the center unit.
