A-7 Engine (East Campus)

The Air Zoo has two Redstone A-7 rocket engines: The engine they inherited from the Michigan Space & Science Center when the latter closed in 2003, plus this fully-restored engine. Now displayed in the Main Campus building, the photos here are of the engine when it was in the East Campus.

This is an A-7 engine, which would have been equipped with a single, 76-gallon hydrogen peroxide tank; however, I've been told that the engine's tank was missing when the Air Zoo received the engine. The restoration crew fitted it with a different tank which looks a fair amount like the two smaller tanks which were used in earlier versions of the engine.
