Gemini MOL

The Air Force had plans to use a modified Gemini spacecraft in their Manned Orbiting Laboratory program, which would employ the use of a small space station to spy on the Soviets. The space station would be launched on the same launch vehicle as the spacecraft and station and spacecraft would remain attached throughout the mission.

The two most obvious modifications to the Gemini spacecraft were the introduction of a hatch through the heat shield and reworking the seats to make room for this hatch.

The first several times I visited the museum, the Gemini-MOL was in the Presidential Hangar. It has since moved to the Missile & Space Gallery.

As of now, I have not yet sorted through all of my pictures of the Gemini-MOL, but some other page references this location. Thus, this is a "place holder" version right now, with only the pictures actually referenced. Come back some time later to see if I've finished up, or drop me an email to request me to prioritize the rest of these pictures.
