B-18 Bolo

The museum displays a B-18A Bolo. The B-18 and the Boeing Model 299 (later renamed the XB-17, the forerunner fof the B-17) were both designed for the same US Army Air Corps competition. Although the Army went with the B-18 primarily out of cost concerns, it hedged its bets and also ordered a small batch of YB-17s.
