Fly-By

While we were driving on the bridge to Chincoteague Island, we were "buzzed" by some sort of instrumented aircraft. It was fitted with some sort of antenna vaguely reminiscent of that on an AWACS and what appeared to be 8-bladed scimitar propellers.

Presumably, it was some sort of research planed based at the nearby Wallops Flight Facility Airport.
