One of the sign accompanying the IU. It reads.

Instrument Unit

NASA engineers at Marshall Space Flight Center designed the instrument unit for the Saturn V. Overall responsibility of the Instrument Unit was assigned to IBM's Federal Systems Division. This is a photograph of the IBM team responsible for S-IU-513.

The IU was not designed for the Saturn V, per se. The same instrument unit, with only minor component differences, was also used on the Saturn IB, and in fact the IU was launched on three unmanned Saturn IB missions (SA-201, SA-203, and SA-202) before the first Saturn V launch.
