F-1 Rocket Engine Tubing Flange

The Rocket Center was a recipient of some of the F-1 rocket engine parts which were recovered from the Atlantic ocean. In addition to larger, easily-identifiable objects (such as a thrust chamber), they also received several boxes of smaller, assorted hardware, much of it difficult to identify.

When I photographed it, I thought that this part appeared to be a flange for connecting a heat exchanger line to one of the heat exchanger inlet or outlet ports. However, upon later inspection, I see that all the heat exchanger line flanges have eight bolts, while this flange has only six.

So, it seems that this part remains difficult to identify :-)
