dsc17029.jpg

Detail of the helium and oxidizer lines running to the heat exchanger. Also visible, just left of center in the upper portion of the picture, are the support arms for the turbopump (the arms are very similar in appearance to the gimbal outriggers).

The connectors on the heat exchanger, from left to right, are the oxidizer outlet, helium outlet (slightly higher than the other connectors), the oxidizer inlet, and the helium inlet. LOX (tapped from the oxidizer dome) and helium (from storage bottles in the S-IC's LOX tank) are routed through the heat exchanger, heated, and the used to pressurize the LOX and RP-1 tanks, respectively.
