The museum's Lunar Module Ascent Propulsion System (APS) engine was displayed
in Space Hall in the "old" museum
(next to the Lunar Module Descent
Propulsion System engine and the Lunar
Module itself) before being moved to the Davidson Center.
When the APS engine was initially moved to the Davidson Center, it remained on its
wheeled dolly and was displayed near the Lunar Module. Later, it was placed inside
of a protective fish bowl and displayed in roughly the same location. I have
photos here from both exhibits.
This engine is Smithsonian catalog #A19751345000;
its more customary white and silver paint job must have been stripped during a
restoration effort.
