It would seem that these would interfere when attempting to don the lunar overboot, so it would seem that these boots would be removed to don the lunar overboot. However, it seems odd that an astronaut would require such a thick boot to protect against thermal extremes when not on the lunar surface, leaving me to wonder about the purpose of this boot.
