The upper portion of the suit and PLSS.

Picture 1 of 2.

The Portable Life Support System (PLSS) is mounted entirely too high on this suit; the top of the Oxygen Purge System (OPS, the upper-most module on the PLSS) was approximately the same height as the astronaut's helmet, appearing to be somewhat shorter or somewhat taller than the helmet, depending upon how the astronaut and photographer are standing.

This is the suit which appeared in the display in 2002. It appears that the PLSS is mounted to its stand via a rod on either side of the PLSS, and that the PLSS supports the suit, allowing the suit to be swapped out with relative ease.
