After the "Rocket Roll" ceremony, they started replacing the hardwood jacks with metal "spool" jacks. The lower, inner part of the transporter is still supported by the hardwood jacks as the metal jacks are moved in along the outer edges of the transporter. This was being done to make room for crawlers.

The red container to the right of the forklift is used to store the hardwood jacks.
