Return to USSRC Saturn V Restoration

S-IVB (July 9, 2007)

I'd been watching the restoration's progress via USSRC's web cam since shortly after it went online. I was also greatly anticipating the Saturn's move, ever since I learned about it at the 2006 Saturn/Apollo Apollo Reunion.

It was with great consternation, then, and I looked at the web cam the morning of June 13 and found that SLA/CSM gone! I was afraid that the move process was going to go on without me, and I had plans to visit the Washington D.C. area starting on June 17. A quick call to the USSRC assured me that only the SLA was being moved and that the rest of the Saturn would be moved, as scheduled, starting July 10.

When I returned from my Washington trip, I found that the S-IVB had been placed on what appeared a large flatbed truck -- which, when I arrived at the USSRC on July 9, I found to be a KAMAG vehicle.

Here are a few pictures of the S-IVB on its KAMAG, the last full day it spent in the Rocket Park.
