B-52

The museum displays the first operational B-52 airacraft assigned to the Strategic Air Command, a B-52B (RB) (SN 52-8711) reconnaissance aircraft.

Many other types of bombers were also converted to reconnaissance aircraft, being redesignated as an "RB" (e.g., the reconnaissance version of the B-36 was the "RB-36"). The "B-52B (RB)" nomenclature breaks with this practice and its meaning is not entirely clear to me.

As of now, I have not yet sorted through all of my pictures of the B-52, but some other page references this location. Thus, this is a "place holder" version right now, with only the pictures actually referenced.
