This would have been added when this vehicle, Atlas 8A, was "reconfigured to Atlas D configuration," as this warhead is typical of an Atlas D. Atlas A vehicles were instead fitted with a dummy nosecone and aerodynamic probe. with an angle-of-attack sensor.
