The plaque accompanying the Unconquered statue. It reads

"Unconquered"

Bronze, 1994
By Allan Houser, Chiricahua Apache, 1914-1994

"Two men, fast men, quick men, rather fight and not be afraid at all."

- Sam Haozous, Chiricahua Apache (Allan Houser's Father)

This sculpture was acquired through the generous support of the Inasmuch Foundation, created by Oklahoma pioneer journalist Edith Kinney Gaylord to improve the quality of life in her native state.

The stonework was a gift from Leslie and Cliff Hudson.

Additional support was provided by the Friends of the Oklahoma Museum of History.
