Walk-around of the helmet accompanying the suit. Picture 1 of 3. Note the gold visor; to the best of my knowledge, such visors were fitted only on the pilot's helmet on EVA missions, to protect against the sun's glare while spacewalking. The command pilot and the pilot on non-EVA missions had a simple clear visor. The helmet does not ordinarily have a cloth covering on it. It's possible that it's used as a protective cover, similar to the one Dick Gordon wore on the Gemini 11 walk-out. | ||||
