Detail of the suit's neck disconnect. Note the small latches (variously also called engagement pins or locking dogs) around the periphery of the neck disconnect interior, in their engaged position. The latches were spring-loaded and had a bevel tip. They slid out of the way as the helmet was lowered into place and, once the helmet was seated, snapped out into a channel machined into the helmet-side disconnect to hold it in place. | ||||
