View of the pressure gauge on the suit's left arm.

Picture 1 of 3.

The pressure gauge indicates that it measures "Suit P.S.I.A." (pounds per square inch, absolute, meaning the pressure relative to a vacuum; what most people mean by "PSI" is actually "pounds per square inch, gauge", meaning the pressure relative to regular atmospheric pressure).

The gauge measures between 2 and 10 PSIA, with the needle reading off-scale high. This make sense, since it measures the absolute pressure and normal atmospheric pressure is approximately 14.7 PSI.
