Former Rocketdyne Plant

The plant in which Rocketdyne produced rocket and missile engines was built by the U.S. Air Force, as A.F. Plant No. 65. Originally intended for competitor Aerojet General (who manufactured engines for the Titan missiles), the Air Force changed their minds and assigned the plant to Rocketdyne. Engines were tested at a nearby test facility.

After Rocketdyne ceased operations at the plant in 1968, it was used for jet engine turbine repair and component overhaul by a series of companies including Continental/Teledyne, Sabreliner, and Dallas Airmotive/Premier Turbines.

Today the facility still has its "A.F. Plant No. 65" sign and still has a "Premier Turbines" sign, even though Premier announced in June 2014 that it would close the plant in early 2015. A local resident told me in April 2016 that Premier actually closed "a few months ago."
