Apollo 8 Rescue Net

This is the Billy Pugh rescue net used on the Apollo 8 flight.

The same type of net was used on other Apollo missions. NASA photos 70-HC-482 and KSC-70PC-256 show the net in use during Apollo 13, and BBC correspondent James Burke discusses the use of the Billy Pugh net with the Apollo 13 recovery crew in this YouTube video.
