The XRS-2200 had a total of 20 thrust cells, 10 on each nozzle ramp.

Two of these engines would have been placed, side by side, at the base of the X-33. Linear aerospike engines are modular, allowing the spacecraft's propulsion unit to be arbitrarily wide.
