Army good conduct medal.

I initially thought it odd that Grissom, who served in the Air Force, received an Army medal; however, a little research showed that the Air Force good conduct medal was not established until June 1, 1963. Since the Air Force was initially formed from the Army Air Corps, it apparently also inherited some Army medals.
