Freedom 7

From December 1998 until mid-2012 Freedom 7 was located in the US Naval Academy's Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center, presumably because Shepard was a Naval Academy graduate.

In January 2012 it was announced that the spacecraft would be moving to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, where it arrived on September 2, 2012 and went on display ten days later.

I visited Freedom 7 at the Naval Academy in 2007, prior to its move.
