dsc98536.jpg

Overall view of the first turbopump; this appears to be the one sent to the National Air & Space Museum.

At bottom is the LOX inducer (the blue hose goes in through its blades).

Aft of the lighter colored ring with the nearly-white spots appears to be the slinger blades of the LOX impeller.

Although it's not obvious from this photo, a photo I took after conservation was completed shows that the two brown rings near the top of the photo are where the fuel impeller is located (it is badly corroded and may be damaged), and it appears that the inducer is no longer present (recall that on the F-1, the inducer is located aft of the impeller, making it seem as though the turbopump is mounted upside-down).

At top (below the elbow joining the the white and blue tubes) can be seen the turbopump's shaft.

As of now, I have not yet sorted through all of my pictures of the turbopumps, but some other page references this location. Thus, this is a "place holder" version right now, with only the pictures actually referenced. Come back some time later to see if I've finished up, or drop me an email to request me to prioritize the rest of these pictures.
