The aft of the plane, taken from aft of the fuel tank. Picture 3 of 3. If you look closely, you can see the control cables routed along the ceiling of the plane. On bomber versions of the B-24, these cables are along the port wall. When the plane was retrofitted with the cargo door, the cables had to be rerouted (I can't help but think that the problem could have avoided by putting the cargo door on the starboard side of the plane, but I'm no aerospace engineer). The green bar with the red tip along the port wall aft of the cargo door is the plane's tow bar. At the lower-right of the picture is the port emergency exit. | ||||
