The large, threaded holes in the square bosses are to seat inner-dome dome attach bolts; 16 such bolts are used to attach the LOX dome to the injector.

There are a total of 15 rows of the axially-drilled, smaller holes admit liquid oxygen to the ring grooves corresponding to the oxidizer rings on the injector's face.
