Detailed view of the survey television camera's head. The television camera was located in the camera's mast, pointing upward. The camera indirectly viewed a particular scene by means of a gimbaled mirror assembly. The mirror was visible at top, with its mirror tilt drive assembly located at right (white cylinder and rectangle). The camera could be rotated around its vertical axis. Additionally, colored or polarizing filters could be placed in front of the camera's lens on command from earth, permitting colorimetric and polarimetric evaluation of individual television pictures. | ||||
