The disassembly crew guessed that this was part of the braking system. When originally preparing this photoset for upload, I found a diagram which identified this as part of the aileron and trim tab controls. Sadly, the Website hosting the PDF manual is no longer online and it looks like this document did not survive the Wayback Machine archiving process.
