Note the red charging handle, its associated cable leading to the aft of the turret, and the red pulley. In the cramped quarters of the ball turret, the ball turret gunner could not directly cock the gun; instead, the gunner pulled this handle, the cable of which attached to the machine gun, in order to charge (cock) the weapon.

Also notice the left foot rest (the half-moon above the forward charging handle pulley, just left of the round forward window).
