Apollo Command Module Lithium Hydroxide Canister

The exhibit included an Apollo Command Module lithium hydroxide canister.

Canisters such as this were part of the CM's environmental control system (ECS). Two such canisters were installed at a time, and were alternately changed every 12 hours. They absorbed carbon dioxide and also contained activated charcoal for odor control.
