The launcher table had a fitting which connected to this coupling to top off the LOX tank.

The hole to the right of the coupling is part of the breather system: If the missile had to be stored for any length of time, it was necessary to circulate air within the tail unit to prevent the formation of condensation; a duct was inserted through this hole for this purpose.
