Walk-around of the heat exchanger and steam duct. Picture 3 of 4. Steam from the steam generator was routed to the turbine, which in turn powered the turbopumps. The exhaust steam was then routed through the heat exchanger and steam duct where it was dumped overboard via the steam vent on the aft face of the tail unit. This exhaust steam contributed approximately 3,000 pounds to the engine's rated thrust. | ||||
