The plaque for the MA-6 launch diorama. It
reads
After two emotion-packed down-range flights and moths of preparation during
which scheduled missions were scrubbed only minutes before launch, the world
haled, "Godspeed, John Glenn," as he lifted off for his historic three-orbit
flight around the Earth, February 20, 1962.
Glenn's spacecraft, Friendship
7, currently resides in the National Air & Space Museum.
